From October 5-6, we competed with our POWER UP robot after 2+ months of training, modifications, and new pneumatics and won the Imagery Award for the first time at CalGames. For many of our members, this was their first time working with an FRC robot and attending an FRC competition! Each one of us enjoyed the POWER UP challenge, and we are all prepared and excited for the 2019 season.

Our team had an amazing time at our first regional of the season in Monterey! We joined the 5th seed alliance and reached semifinals - we extend our thanks to alliance partners Team 5817 and Team 3495. In addition, we won the Autonomous Award, which celebrates the team that has demonstrated consistent, reliable, high-performance robot operation during autonomously managed actions. Evaluation is based on the robot’s ability to sense its surroundings, position itself or onboard mechanisms appropriately, and execute tasks. We also had the absolute honor of meeting Woodie Flowers, a true inspiration for our team, especially in matters of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition.

Our team had a wonderful time competing at the Las Vegas Regional, our first out-of-state regional. We enjoyed working with Team 3009 and Team 5025 in some intense, action-packed playoffs as the 6th Seeded Alliance Captain. Thank you to our amazing alliance partners and their robots for bringing their skills in all parts of the game in both qualifications and playoffs. We also won the Entrepreneurship Award sponsored by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, which celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit by recognizes a team that has developed a comprehensive business plan in order to define, manage, and achieve the team's ongoing objectives. Lastly, everyone on the team enjoyed exploring local attractions and dining spots. We are glad to have met so many excellent teams and individuals both on and off the playing field! This was a wonderful way to end our 2019 main season competition, and we look forward to competing at more offseason tournaments with this robot!
